Description

Valentine’s Strawberry Cake Donuts are soft, tender baked donuts with a sweet strawberry flavor and a lovely pink hue. Finished with a simple glaze or festive sprinkles, these cake donuts are perfect for Valentine’s Day breakfasts, brunches, or gifting.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup strawberry purée or strawberry jam
  • ½ teaspoon pink or red food coloring (optional)

Glaze (optional):

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Valentine sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, oil (or butter), vanilla extract, strawberry purée, and food coloring if using.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Spoon or pipe batter into donut pan, filling each cavity about ¾ full.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until donuts are set and lightly golden.
  7. Let cool slightly, then glaze and decorate if desired.
