  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions until translucent (about 5 minutes), then add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Brown the ground beef in the skillet with the onions and garlic; drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning; let simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Layer half of the beef mixture in the prepared baking dish, sprinkle half of the mozzarella on top, then repeat with remaining beef and cheese. Finish with breadcrumbs.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
