- 8 oz sushi-grade fresh tuna, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon or lime juice
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon finely diced shallot
- 1 teaspoon capers, finely chopped (optional)
- ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional garnish: avocado, sesame seeds, microgreens
Instructions
- Using a sharp knife, finely dice the tuna and place it in a chilled bowl.
- Add soy sauce, sesame oil, lemon (or lime) juice, olive oil, shallot, capers, and Dijon mustard if using.
- Gently mix until just combined, being careful not to mash the tuna.
- Season lightly with black pepper.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve immediately or chill briefly and plate using a ring mold if desired. Garnish before serving
