- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon strawberry gelatin powder (for flavor & color)
- 24 chocolate kisses, unwrapped
- Optional: pink or red sanding sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg, vanilla extract, and strawberry gelatin powder.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until combined.
- Scoop dough into balls and roll in sanding sugar if using.
- Place dough balls 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set.
- Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack
