  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Scoop dough onto prepared sheets, flatten slightly. Place about half a teaspoon of filling on half of the cookies, cover with remaining dough, and pinch edges to seal.
