- 4 large Russet potatoes (about 2 lbs), peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Shape into small meatballs.
- Brown the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, then top with half of the meatballs and half of the heavy cream.
- Repeat the layers and finish with remaining cream and shredded cheddar on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
