Description

Potato and Meatball Gratin is the ultimate comfort food, blending creamy layers of tender potatoes with savory meatballs and a rich cheese topping.


Ingredients

  • 4 large Russet potatoes (about 2 lbs), peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Shape into small meatballs.
  3. Brown the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, then top with half of the meatballs and half of the heavy cream.
  5. Repeat the layers and finish with remaining cream and shredded cheddar on top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
