- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium carrot, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz canned San Marzano tomatoes
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add onions and carrots; sauté for about 5 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
- 3. Increase heat and add ground beef. Cook until browned evenly, about 7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
