Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until dough forms.
- Divide dough in half and tint one portion with pink food coloring.
- Gently twist the plain and pink doughs together to create a marbled effect.
- Scoop dough balls and place 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Sprinkle with sanding sugar if desired.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack
