  • 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Add ground meat and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for five minutes.
  4. In a baking dish, layer a thin layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, half the ricotta mixture (seasoned with salt and pepper), half the remaining meat sauce, and mozzarella.
  5. Repeat layers finishing with noodles topped with marinara sauce and remaining mozzarella.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
