- 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or sesame oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: paprika or chili flakes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare a skillet or air fryer.
- In a bowl, toss tofu cubes with soy sauce until coated.
- Sprinkle cornstarch, garlic powder, pepper, and optional spices over tofu and toss gently.
- Add oil and mix until tofu is evenly coated.
- Oven method: Spread tofu on a lined baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Skillet method: Pan-fry tofu in a skillet over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, turning until crispy.
- Air fryer method: Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway.
- Serve hot and crispy.
