Description

Crispy Tofu is a simple, versatile dish featuring golden, crunchy tofu cubes with a tender center. Perfect as a protein for bowls, salads, stir-fries, or dipping, this easy recipe delivers big texture with minimal ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: paprika or chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare a skillet or air fryer.
  2. In a bowl, toss tofu cubes with soy sauce until coated.
  3. Sprinkle cornstarch, garlic powder, pepper, and optional spices over tofu and toss gently.
  4. Add oil and mix until tofu is evenly coated.
  5. Oven method: Spread tofu on a lined baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. Skillet method: Pan-fry tofu in a skillet over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, turning until crispy.
  7. Air fryer method: Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway.
  8. Serve hot and crispy.
