  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup eggnog

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs and milk together. Add melted butter and mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Divide batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for ten minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  6. For the frosting, beat softened butter in a bowl until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and eggnog until desired consistency is reached.
  7. Once cakes are completely cool, frost between layers and on top.
